Kat Hurley

A lifelong athlete, Kat is always on the move. Over the years, her training style has gone from "No pain, no gain!" to less is more. Her focus is longevity: balance, mobility, flexibility and strength, all of which are incorporated into every group fitness and personal training session.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Finola K., Park Slope

Christina Rice

Kat might be the evil genius of personal trainers. I have never laughed so hard while simultaneously (sort of) cursing her for pushing me to try a little harder each session. My progress has been slow and steady and I credit her for encouraging me over the last year to gain strength and confidence; not always easy in middle-age.

Finola K, Park Slope

I started working with Kat a little over a year ago and I’m so glad I did! She has done an amazing job of listening to my fitness goals, tailoring workouts to align with those goals, and helping me achieve great results. She is incredibly supportive and positive, and in addition to her professional expertise she’s a truly delightful person. I used to dread exercising, but now I look forward to my weekly session with Kat!

Hannah

Kat has improved not only my fitness, but my whole-body wellness.  Her suggestions on everything from how to improve my nutritional intake, supplement with probiotics, and holistically treat a thyroid disorder have been invaluable. Kat’s focus on strength and wellness have had a positive impact on how I think about my body, fitness and health.

Christina Rice

Attending an exercise class of Kat’s is never just about exercising.  While she’s extremely knowledgeable about fitness, she also knows about supplements, auto immune diseases and lots more that she thoughtfully shares between breaks in the routines.  *In group classes she’ll ask at the beginning how everyone feels and then seamlessly suggest modifications so we’re each able to get the most out of her routine, so while the class may be a group rather than a personal training session, she focuses on each student individually.

Kat Hurley brings her passion for life into everything she does. She offers so much more than just amazing workouts-- Kat makes it fun, accessible, and is right there with you encouraging you along the way. There’s never a dull moment with Kat, and I’ve come to love her training as an opportunity to not only transform my physical strength and endurance, but also as a means of starting my day with positive intentions and a big smile.

I’ve studied and exercised with many teachers and few have been as smart, fun, and well informed about a large range of topics.  Her music selections are equally varied from Motown, to 70’s rock n’roll to Beyonce and even Dolly Parton on occasion.  Her interests, talents and enthusiasms are boundless.  Don’t take my word, try a class and you’ll be a convert!
